Review:
These results Nicolas Winding Refn Drive has some nice camera work and beautiful colors, but somehow does not seem to work. Almost every shot is still too long, and it feels like something cheap, like a movie or television porn, but Im at a loss to say exactly why and how. More than half of the actors - including Ryan Gosling, which, as a rule, note-perfect - curiously, seems unnatural and out of place a lot of time, maybe it's just a result of the shooting so foreign clime.Having said it, but there are some lovely, memorable moments along the way, and Kristen Scott Thomas is in excellent condition throughout, slightly incestuous (but still damn foxy) mother. And then Ryan is also a pleasure to look at, if he does not get his face in the mashed potatoes, but I miss the brilliant actor Lars and the Real Girl and Blue Valentine. This, of course, it would be good to hear it more than three lines of the movie one of these days.As I say, blood-red lighting, textures, camera lens, sound, everything is in place for this to work, but somehow it does not. Strange.
